Anne Hutch Has H.E.A.R.T Helpers!! By Anthony Napior

Have you ever felt lonely?  Sometimes people want to be alone, but I think a lot of people would rather play together, but don’t know how to start.  For the past few years, I have been an Anne Hutchinson School H.E.A.R.T Helper.  I love it!! I get to play with other kids that could be shy, have different needs, or just want another friend.  I have so much fun going into other classes to play games and talk to friends that I ordinarily may not see in my typical day.

It feels so good to be a H.E.A.R.T Helper. It just makes you feel good to know that you are doing something helpful. It also makes you feel good because by just doing something as simple as hanging out, you are making someone’s day. Really, I think it makes my day even more.

Recently, I saw my Anne Hutch school buddy on the baseball field where I help with the Eastchester Little League Challenger Division.  The Challenger Division is a baseball league to help kids play the game.  I was so excited to play my favorite sport together with my buddy.

I saw quickly how much more alike we all are than different.  Imagine if every person found someone new to play with, even just once a week.  I think we would all smile a little bit more.
